Educational and Athletic Partnerships
Many of our team members are parents of children or grandchildren of their own, and we fully recognize the challenges that many schools face to provide enhancement and enrichment activities for their students and student-athletes. We have thoroughly enjoyed partnering with many of our area schools, local athletics/activities groups and Parent Teacher Associations. Whether we are volunteering to send an area PeeWee Hockey team off to their State Tournament or donating to an annual fundraiser event, we feel good knowing that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of our patients and families. We take our community engagement seriously at Horton Orthodontics, both within our practice and in our community. Being champions for others allows us and our partners to feel connected and a sense of belonging. We are dedicated to so much more than building great smiles —we want to help transform our surrounding communities and have a positive impact on society—one smile at a time!
Polar Plunge For Special Olympics
For the past two years, your Horton Orthodontics team has taken the plunge in icy cold waters to raise money for the Special Olympics Minnesota. The goal of Special Olympics Minnesota is to foster an environment where every individual is respected regardless of ability or disability.
The Polar Plunge is its largest fundraising event with all proceeds going to support year-round training and services to athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. The Woodbury Plunge has raised more than $853,496 in its 9-year history, and in 2024, Horton Orthodontics is happy to share that we played a role in helping raise more than $126,458!
Mobile On-Site Recreation Experience
We’re proud to partner with the Woodbury Parks & Recreation Department as a sponsor of the M.O.R.E. (Mobile On-Site Recreation Experience) pilot program! M.O.R.E. is an innovative initiative created to expand access to recreational opportunities for youth and teens ages 5–16. By bringing activities directly into neighborhoods, it breaks down barriers to participation and makes play, movement, and connection more accessible and inclusive for everyone. Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to the values we live every day—especially our dedication to being a champion for each other, our patients, and our community.
SoWashCo Community Education
The Skoolie bus is a unique and clever way to increase access to programs and improve academics for our underserved students. The bus visits 60 summer events and schools throughout South Washington County to offer fun, convenient and affordable opportunities for youth and families. Dr. Horton understands the importance of making educational and fun activities available for all children, especially those who may not have the transportation or financial means. She is thrilled to have teamed up with SoWashCo Community Education to be a small part of what keeps the wheels on this bus going round and round!
Brave Like Gabe Foundation
